The Coron DS-8 drum & percussion synthe is from the 1980's and was a portable drum synthesizer unit to be attached to a drum kit's snare drum to enhance the player's kit with modern sounds of it's time. The unit contains one VCO and a noise generator that generates white or pink noise and mixed with the balance control giving the instrument.

The oscillator features a sweepable range with a dedicated knob. There is an envelope that offers decay only and an LFO with Rate intensity. The unit is triggering by snare hits but could also be triggered from other vibrations or from a foot switch or audio source, Some of the units are labelled as "Drum & Percussion Synthe" not "Synth"

controls the mix between the noise and the oscillator.
