This coin was salvaged by a friend of mine more than 20 years ago in the north sea near the Shetlands .
The shipwreck was the De Liefde which sank in 1711.
Every coin carried on board the Liefde dated from 1711 and before.
Very few coins from the wreck were undamaged. This coin is a historic find sadly many of the coins recovered were so badly damaged by salt sea and storms that their dates are often damaged.
