Odlicno ocuvan disk.
Trumpeter Marlon Jordan was only 18 when he recorded this set, his debut recording as a leader. Branford Marsalis makes four appearances on tenor; Marlon`s brother, flutist Ken Jordan, is heard on the opening `Jepetto`s Despair,` and there are two duets with bassist/pianist Elton Heron. Four standards (including `Cherokee` and `Stardust`) are performed, along with originals by Jordan and Heron. At this point in time, Jordan was heavily influenced by Wynton Marsalis and, to a lesser extent, Miles Davis; he did not yet have a voice of his own. However, Marlon Jordan`s playing was reasonably inventive, and he definitely was technically skilled, making this set of both musical and historic interest.
