This is an extremely rare 12 armed weaponless Arya Manjushri Namasangiti cast in white copper Paktong ( also known as early Chinese nickle silver)
Cast in the 1700's possibly the 1600's in Either Tibet by a Nepali craftsman or cast in Nepal.
2 untested /uncertified Buddhas sold for $1800 and $2000 each at auction not including Auction fees
(none of the 2 were tested and certified )
I checked with the auctions
The 3rd is on display in the Nepali national museum and was not xrf tested nor C14 tested.
My sculpture has now been TL tested and confirms it to be very likely to be Chinese Paktong as used in Tibet/Nepal in the 17th and the 18th century.
3 No grade match on 3 test points means it is a pre industrial / non german silver/ non alpacca alloy and was cast before 1820.
If I must pay another 500e to test it using carbon 14 testing on the chaff and core and to certify the date to be in the 1700's or quite possibly the 1600's it will be the only fully certified sculpture of its type in the world and made of Paktong.
The key to unlocking its true age is its the only sculpture with its carbonised casting core still inside it and the only one in the world that can be carbon 14 dated.
I have included the auction photos of 2 similar untested / non certified sculptures.
As well as the Nepali museums own Arya Manjushri Namasangiti also untested and non Carbon 14 certified and cannot be tested.
The price is : €3000.oo fixed
As mine does have certification this elevates its value over and above previous auction sales prices for similar uncertified items.
My offer is for a 250 - 300 year old extremely rare Arya Manjushri Namasangiti now with a certiticate of metalurgical testing.
100% Newari lost wax casting displaying
Carbonised rice husk and chaff .
The carbonised casting core is intact and can be dated using Carbon 14 testing.
